Leap Year…Who Thinks About THAT?

How often do YOU think about Leap Year?  If I am honest, I don’t. I think you might agree, if you are honest as well. Who thinks about it?  I don’t know who thinks about it typically. I have struggled trying to figure out a true purpose or celebration for Leap Year. I’ve never heard of a real use for it. Just sayin’.

Well, this year – 2020 – IS a Leap Year. OK. Cool. So what? What even IS a Leap Year?

Basically, a Leap Year is when the extra time that it took our planet to revolve around the sun over the previous three years combined, is combined and included as an extra day in our calendar – February 29Google it. It’s science.

But you know what? THIS year, Leap Year HAS a clear meaning for me. THIS year, Leap Year has a purpose for – ME.

No, my birthday is not on February 29.  No, I do not have a special occasion planned for February 29.  No, I do not have anything to celebrate specifically on February 29.

So, why is Leap Year important to me THIS year?

Because Leap Year is adding one day . . . to my journey. . . of becoming ME.  What? Wait just a minute.

You mean we get MORE time? YUP. Don’t we frequently hear people say, “There is just not enough time...”  Well, GUESS WHAT…?????

Thank you, Leap Year!

We get ANOTHER day of life!

  • We get a few more hours to do what we love.
  • We get a few more hours to love those special people around us
  • We get a few more hours to rest our body.
  • We get a few more hours to create our masterpiece.
  • We get a few more hours to BE.

OR –

  • We get a few more hours to engage in negative thoughts
  • We get a few more hours to focus on our weaknesses.
  • We get a few more hours to wallow in our suffering.

Not THIS year.  NOT me.

THIS Leap Year, I intend to focus on my next chapter.

What sparks my interest? What lights my desire? What ignites me?

What does it look like?

Where will it take place?

Who will join me?

What adventures lay ahead?

When does it begin?

How will it manifest itself?

How will I get there?

These are all questions… that begin now.

They begin with THIS Leap Year.
